Our history
Svarog West Group Corporation is the youngest and most dynamically developing agrarian company in Khmel'nytsky region. Currently, the corporation consists of 21 enterprises located in both Khmel'nytsky and Chernivtsy regions and operates in all spheres of agriculture including: crop growing, livestock breeding, gardening, vegetable growing, etc. The corporation's top executive is Chairman of the Board, Andriy Andriyovych Gordiychuk.
Since the years of its inception, Svarog West Group Corporation has gone through a number of phases:
2003
- On the 20th March the Shepetivka Sugar refinery founded an independent agrarian department. This department's main objectives were:
- ensuring sugar production using only self-produced raw materials;
- increasing soil fertility and raising production standards on 4000 hectares of land belonging to the two farms with the lowest development indices in Shepetivka district;
- increasing cultivated area, yield per hectare, and gross harvest of agricultural crops;
- creating more opportunity for employment for local agriculture specialists.
- The Foundation of a number of varied agricultural enterprises involved in many different areas of plant growing, all to be headed by the agricultural department:
- growing cereal and technical crops;
- growing sugar beet.
2004
- Establishment of Podilskyy Hospodar Ltd. (Main activity - stockbreeding). The enterprise operates on a farm in Pylyai village. Initial number of the fattening stock – 160 heads.
- In order to provide the enterprise with high-quality sowing materials and to heighten qualitative and quantitative harvest indices, the enterprise engages elite seed-growing farm Lotivka-Elit Ltd. in Shepetivka district;
- Foundation of Seredynetske Ltd., which provides the agrarian department's enterprises with technical services thus supporting the entire range of agricultural works;
- Deepening of ongoing and effective cooperation with a number of plant breeding centers and research stations, such as the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Science's Odessa Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Kyiv Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics, Zhytomyr Agricultural Polissya Institute, Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences Kyiv Institute of Crop Farming, Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences V.M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat, and the Vinnytsia Agricultural Research Station.
2005
- Expansion of livestock breeding through the launching of dairy stockbreeding at the Lotivka village farm.
- Tightening of relations with the trade representative offices of well-known foreign companies which provide and maintain foreign-manufactured machinery.
2006
- Launching of a vegetable-growing project in Hrytsiv village, Shepetivka district. Like other developments, the new branch was introduced with the most advanced technologies. The decision was made to grow vegetables on irrigated lands. Vegetables such as onions, carrots, and potatoes were grown using drip irrigation, while overhead irrigation was used to grow cabbage.
- Purchase and renovation of a nonfunctional vegetable storage in Shepetivka. The first stage of renovation was the installation of cold-proof and ventilation equipment for storing 1,200 tons of onion.
- The corporation decides to dispose of old machinery and procures a substantial number of foreign-manufactured machinery units, including combine harvesters, seed drills, tractors, and beet loaders from quality manufacturers such as Massey Fergusson, Lexion, Hollmer, and Kleine Mause.
- On December 27th Svarog-2006 Corporation gained official corporate registration status.At this time the company is comprised of 6 agricultural enterprises in the Khmelnytsky region.
2007
- New enterprises located in the Shepetivka and Slavuta districts of the Khmel'nytsky region, undertaking crop planting, stockbreeding, meat and milk production, join the corporation.
- The corporation sets up nine new enterprises in Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions specializing in crops, vegetables, fruit growing and also cattle breeding.
- Acquisiton of 161 hectares of new intensive apple orchards (on medium- and low-height tree stocks) in Sokyriany district, Chernivtsy region. The technology used is drip irrigation.
- Launch of the first phase of the Intensive Orchards in Bukovina project in Sokyriany district, Chernivtsy region – establishment of 30 hectares of pear orchard on medium- and low-height tree stocks.
- Further modernization and expansion of the vegetable storage project in Shepetivka through the installation of refrigerating equipment and ventilation systems for larger amounts of onion, cabbage, and potato.
- One of the best milk production complexes in Ukraine, using Italian-made Milky Line equipment, was opened in September in Velyka Medvedivka village, Shepetivka district;
- 12 plastic-covered greenhouses for growing ecologically clean tomatoes were built in autumn in Sokyriany on a total area 0.5 ha.
- Opening of a service complex in Mokiivtsi village, Shepetivka district with the purpose of concentrating all machinery and transport resources in a single place and creating all necessary conditions for repair and maintenance services.
- Svarog-2006 Corporation becomes the winner of the Benefactor of the Year national contest in Khmelnytsky region;
- The All-Ukrainian Association of Employers declares Svarog West Group Corp. Chairman of the Board À.À. Gordiychuk to be the winner of the national prize of Employer of Ukraine 2007 Leader for preservation of the existing and creation of new work places and also for social maintenance of business;
- The first issue of the monthly corporate newspaper Svarozhe Kolo is published.
2008
- Svarog West Group Corporation consists of 23 agricultural enterprises located in Khmel'nytsky and Chernivtsy regions.
- Total cultivated area: 75,000 hectares.
- Number of livestock: 12000 heads.
- In Shepetivka vegetable storage facility was increased up to 2.6 thousand tons;
- The construction of one of the largest and best apple and pear storage facilities in Ukraine using only top of the line equipment was finished in Chernivtsy region.
- Investments into machinery in 2008 were 65 mln. UHR
- More then 1,8 mln. UHR were spent on different social projects including regular address aids
- August 29, new enterprise "Svarog-Vidrodzhenya", which is responsible for lands in Hotyn area, entered the corporation.
- Chairman of «Svarog West Group» corporation Andriy Gordiychuk decorated with st. Nicholas Order and the Order of Honor on the occasion of 1020 th anniversary of Christening of Rus.
- 27 November, local fire brigade station in Mokievtsy MTC (Shepetovsky area) was opened.
- The construction of the third frame type cowshed based on milk-commercial complex in the Velyka Vedmedivka village. Project capacity – 400 cows.
2009
- The participation of corporation delegates in the International Grain Conference, held 26-27 February 2009 in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
- Corporation machinery park gained four foreign-made tractors, three sprayers and two seeders.
- March 7, Corporational Mini-football Cup competitions held in Shepetivka. Winning team - «Podolskiy Gospodar» (Department of Livestock).
- May 22, the final of children's creativity contest took place in the regional literary-memorial museum of Nikolay Ostrovsky. This year its slogan was «My future - with native land».
- Chairman of the Corporation and his deputy participated in international wheat conference, which took place in Egypt (Sharm-El-Sheikh, 30 March-1 April) and Ukraine (Kiev, 24-25 April).
- In June, the corporation becomes a participant of XXI International Agricultural Exhibition and Fair "AGRO-2009". Chairman of the Corporation Svarog West Group, was awarded with «Leader of the agroindustrial complex of Ukraine - 2009» badge and personal diploma during the Fair.
