Human body has an acute need for vitamins and nutrients in spring. Indeed, the accumulated resources were used for life-sustaining activity. And now everybody wants to enjoy succulent fruits and vegetables, apples especially. Therefore, there is always a queue at groceries.
As a rule, customers are proposed Polish or Dutch apples in March. They look nice, but do not special aroma and taste, which is specific for our apples. It is no wonder, because durable keeping reduces nutrition and gustatory properties.
It becomes clear that caring host will find the way to deliver the real quality to customer when you eat red apple from corporative fruit storage. And the price will be 2-3 hryvnyas lower than foreign one.
So what is that structure that provides storage for gifts of Bukovyna gardens? As Director of Fruit products department S. Havrysh says, an idea to built modern and powerful fruit storage occurred when gardening established as one of corporation activities. The gas medium storage technology was selected from the variety of options. Application of this technology ensures absolute freshness of fruit till the new crop.
Standard storage with controlled atmosphere slows the processes of postharvest maturation and aging, which allows to store many winter variety fruits for 8-11 months. It also saves the original quality of the fruit at the exit (firmness, juiciness, nutritional value).
The storage is located near corporative gardens in Koblochin village, Sokyryany region. The room, which formerly served as a storehouse was reconstructed according to new demands and equipped with powerful Czech-made accessories. The preparatory work lasted about six months. Then all the cells with total capacity of 2 tons were loaded with apple products and opened in the presence of buyers.
Top proficient A. Zabudko is responsible for storage functioning and observance of rules. He has under three employees who provide all the necessary range of work. 20 additional temporary workers are involved when products are shipped to customers.
According to E. Kozak, Director of LLC «Bukovyna Garden», fruit storage lived up to expectations. Indeed, despite the fact that this is only the first year of storage and there are many questions of organizational and technical plan, the production is very competitive. The owners of the Kiev and Moscow's supermarkets and wholesale buyers are satisfied with the cooperation of «Svarog».
By the way, the apples from the «Bukovyna Garden» have been certified under the international standard of quality horticultural products Global GAP in 2008. This certificate allows selling apples to European buyers without any additional documents about the quality products.
When any trade becomes promising and profitable, it should be developed. That is why plans to increase capacity of storage are in process. Negotiations are held now with several European firms in order to supply equipment for a new storage, which will be built in Vashkivtsi village, Sokyryany region, near 100 ha garden array. Estimated future power of future storage is 2000 ton. Also, special line will be purchased next year. It will allow sorting fruits according their size for further packaging in cardboard boxes.
All these facts prove dynamic development of fruit producing branch, besides, Ukrainian customer will have quality and tasty apples at any time.
