We hoped that spring will be very early, but weather forecasters disappointed us, so we take to the field not earlier than March 5-10. The first phase of work is feeding crops with carbamide. If the weather is fine, we would have been already seeding.
Yury said that even with this crisis, the corporation plans to sow all, there will be no empty lands. However, there is 6 thousand of steaming hectares which will not be seeded. It is not because of few resources. This is a technological necessity. Those lands are abandoned, part of the recent affiliation. Last year, the corporation has processed them with herbicides and disk plowed. Their fertility will be restored this year.
We should say that not all of the affiliated lands were abandoned by previous hosts. Thus, in Orshivtsy, Chernivtsi region, management maintained to keep all 4.3 thousand hectares of arable land keep in well-groomed condition. Collective is solid there. We can see that: their head is in position. Why did such a prosperous farm decide to find an investor? It is not a hard thing hard to guess: the economy problems are not reducing in the agrarian sector, on the contrary the situation becomes worse. It becomes difficult to survive without financial injections. In fact prices for grain market could be viewed as a mockery until recently. The reason why Orshivtsy chose "Svarog" from a large number of investors is understandable too. Chernivtsi region knows already that the corporation is able to manage, offers job and high salaries to local people, pays well the shareholders and takes part in the development of village social sphere.
Last year, crop of corn was very good in Chernivtsi region because we put the lands under imported hybrids. So we will sow about 12 thousand hectares of this crop. And only the best soybeans were taken last year and this culture also thanked us with abundant harvest. A decent price for grain is 3200 hryvnia per ton, so it does not make sense to refuse it for this year/ We will sow 6,5 thousand hectares.
Volumes planting are large enough. All the above mentioned cultures are not the only ones in "Svarog". It is planned to put 3,5 thousand hectares of land under a spring barley. Wheat - 3,2 thousand ha, rape - 1450 ha (winter one - 3.7 thousand), 4.5 thousand hectares of sugar beets, pea - 960 hectares, fodder crops - up to 2 thousand, and there will be a lot of sunflowers.
During these hard times we still stick to sacred technology of every crop. And will not save on system of plant protection. Soil will get everything that it needs. Mineral fertilizers for spring time were prepared in autumn. Sowing will be also with fertilizers. Our team of agronomists is the same as last year. Besides we plan to enroll a few people more. Job cut did not huet our service fortunately.
