Information: Regional NGO Khmelnitsk Sustainable Development Fund «Stara Volyn» actively works on creation of volunteer corps in rural communities. «Stara Volyn» will introduce the project together with its partners: the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), «Svarog West Group» corporation and Khmelnitsky Region Administration.
A press conference took place in Khmelnitsky Regional State Administration on theme «The potential of the development of rural communities in the Khmelnitsky region». The main reason of this conference was the beginning of partnership project with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Khmelnytsky regional NGO «Stara Volyn» and Corporation «Svarog West Group» «Creating volunteer corps in rural communities of Ukraine». Vladimir Kirilyuk, Vice Chairman of Regional State Administration on the agro-industrial complex Khmelnitsky Regional State Administration and Nikolay Panasiuk, head of the development of local self-government and Information Management Khmelnytsky regional council held the conference. The it was attended by representatives of partner organizations: Ananta Hanskook, Program Manager USAID, Victoria Grib, a specialist in the promotion of development, Olga Mirtsalo, information and developement specialist, Gnatiuk Natalia, President of the Foundation «Stara Volyn», Michail Ganaba, head of the project «Volunteers corps in rural communities of Ukraine », Andriy Gordiychuk, Chairman of the Board of corporation «Svarog West Group», Tatiana Vasilik, head of the department of information and social policy, as well as representatives from other public, government and business structures. It was spoken during the press conference that «Corps volunteers in rural communities of Ukraine» will seek and support the volunteers, who set a process of effective use of information, begin the process of discussion, development and implementation of community development strategy, help local leaders to become an effective team during two years of activities in the rural community. Also, they realize as an example one or more mini-projects. The project started in Khmelnitsky region 2 Feb, 2009 and will last till October 2011.
