Romankivtsy grain reception centre in Sokiryany region of Chernovtsy oblast began its work in 1950es. Since then, its staff faithfully performed difficult and responsible task of quality grain storage. After all, growing and harvesting is only half of the story.. Wheat should be retained without loss, properly prepared, stored under appropriate temperature, protected from rodents, etc. While communicating with Vitali Kozak, director of the GRC, we learned about the main aspects of this enterprise.
During the collapse of the Soviet Union and its agriculture system, GRC passed through hard times, because not much grain was stored there, funding was insufficient and equipment - obsolete. Two years ago grain reception centre become one of the enterprises subordinate to the corporation «Svarog West Group». Everything changed since then. Major repairs were carried out, warehouses were mechanized, foreign dryers were purchased, etc. Over 9 million hryvnias were spent on GRC development. All these costs lived up the expectations. In 2008, grain reception center took up and maintained during winter 45 thousand tons of grain, while the maximum amount was only 32 tons. How is it possible? Thanks to «Argentine bags», a simple but efficient technology. Now such projects are developed and adopted at the ministerial level, but for the first time they have been applied by us in the Chernivtsi region. The next harvest will also be quite big. According to specialists, about one hundred thousand of grain from fields of Nova Ushitsya, Sokiryany and Kelmenetsy will be collected, 56 000 mt of maize is part of this harvest. Therefore, workers of GRC have quite an achievable goal - take care of all of these volumes. The staff of GRC consists of good faith and professional workers who have considerable experience. In addition, the company is trying to interest young professionals in the agricultural sector and prove that this branc is quite successful and promising. So, a newcomer in the «Svarog» family surely challenges the best enterprises and «holds high brand».
