It is harvest time! Because of nasty spring farmers made gloomy predictions, but the hot weather, which established in the region recently, helped to start harvesting early. Harvesters work without turning a hair in the field almost round the clock. There is nothing strange because wheat, rye and barley remain the main source of income.
Fertile fields of Khmelnitsky and Chernivtsi regions proved to be competitive producers of grain. "We should hurry!" – decided workers of "Svarog West Group" corporation and began to harvest among the first. "We should value the help of the weather,"- says Mykola Karavan, head of Lavrinivtsy-Vyshneve array (LLC Lotivka-Elite) of the corporation, - Every minute is worth its weight in gold! It's OK, we can handle. With the help of modern technology, we can pay no attention to small rains and work from seven o'clock in the morning till 10 pm. We are used to it."
The Lavrinivtsy-Vyshneve array is among the first in Khmelnitsky region who entered into the process. On July 20, almost half of the crops were harvested. "We are sure that we'll cope with this task in 2-3 days, because, in addition to these 158 hectares in this field, other 322 hectares should be processed" – stresses Mykola Karavan. There are reasons to believe that everything will be done in time, because there is no problem with fuel, machinery works perfectly. In general, there are about one-third of harvesters from well-known producers: KLAAS Lexicon, Massey Ferguson and CASE on the corporation fields in Khmelnitsky region. The others involved in Chernivtsi region, where the harvest is under way. We should note that all the harvesting processes are held in harmony, despite the high rate of work. Proper organization makes harvesting work much easier.
Winter barley, which is collected here, is used in agriculture as a concentrated animal feed. In general, we can already make some conclusions on the yield: 4300 kg from 1 ha. This important crop ripens earlier than others and replenishes farm stores in summer, when winter stocks of fodder are already been exhausted.
So long, as the weather pleases us, we will continue to harvest. We wish success to local workers in harvesting these important grains.
