


On October 10, 2009 in Shepetivka took place an open championship of Khmelnytsky region in combat sambo for men and juniors.
The championship was opened by President of Federation of combat Sambo of Ukraine Veliyev El'han Nazymovych. The President of Federation of combat Sambo of Khmelnytsky region Marchuk Alexander, the mayor of Shepetivka Shpil'chenko Svyatoslav, the Deputy Chairman of the "Svarog West Group" Corporation Dyachyk Mukola and other respected guests turned to the competitors and spectators with the welcoming speech.
In this championship were attended athletes from six sport clubs, such as "Combat" (Shepetivka), "Jaroslav" (Khmelnytsky), "Pulsar" (Netishyn), team of the National Academy of the border troops (Khmelnytsky), the team of the Federation of martial arts of Shepetivka, "Dobro" (Kiev).
Duels between the sportsmen were quite spectacular and the fans supported the athletes very actively. By the way, the winners were awarded by the medals and diplomas, and the teams – by the cups. Alexander Bruce (" Pulsar") was marked in the nomination "The best technique", and in the nomination " By the will to win " was marked Michael Kotlyarenko.
The partners of the competitions - "Svarog West Group" Corporation and broadcasting company "Chance" - were awarded honorary diplomas for a significant contribution to the development of combat Sambo Federation of Ukraine.
So the team championship for the total count of points was defined as follows: the first place – "Combat" (Shepetivka-city), the second place - "Good" (Kiev), the third place - the team of the Federation of martial arts of Shepetivka and the forth place – "Jaroslav" (Khmelnytsky).

Combat sambo is a unique self-defence system, which was produced in real combat conditions and based on the principles of a real battle with one or more opponents (standing and lying). Also it bases on the principles of natural motions and special training in a mental stress situation.
Slavic type of martial arts "combat Sambo" appeared for the first time in the early twentieth century. Already in 20th years, in order to weapon the national police with attack and protection techniques, Spiridonov, Koronovskyy, Oznobyshyn, Yakovlev, Solonevich continued to work on this rind of sport.
On November 16, 1938 combat sambo, called "Soviet free fight style”, was ratified by Sports committee of USSR, and since 1939 the seminars and meetings of trainers have been held. Methods of combat sambo have adopted by the intelligence officers, and later, in the years 1986-1988 was drawn up a program of training combat sambo of the policemen and pre-conscription youth.
In 2008 the combat sambo celebrated 85 years anniversary.
