Searching new experience in Holland

Декоративні рослини Обмін досвідом Наші агрономи в голанських садах

As someone has said "The beauty is to save the world". Landscape beauty is the requirement of the day, so our corporation has lately started thinking of providing the market with the best pleasing the eye plants and developing its new industrial branch – landscape planting.

With this purpose we decided to refer to our colleges abroad, whose main sphere of activity is landscape planting and plant distributing. The delegation consisting of 5 corporation specialists in planting and 4 persons from the Bukovyna region research institute and Prydnistrivska research station (both cooperating with the corporation in pears and walnuts growing) went to Holland looking for new scientific and practical knowledge, experience and partnership.

The destination of the trip was Holland fruit tree nurseries (a nursery of Van Diepen, Tonsel Tree nursery, Hoogenraad tree nursery, De Buurte tree nursery, Bodten und van Willegen nurseries), trading companies and Propagation Garden Host. The first ones in the list deal with the production of apple and pears trees, ornamental plant material and ornamental plants. Tonsel nurseries began modestly in 1971 in the Tonsel area (near Harderwijk) on 1,5 ha. dealing with the retail and amenity sectors. For many years Tonsel has been committed to growing a wide range of trees. The nursery occupies reclaimed land that was once the bed of the 'Zuiderzee' and as a result can take advantage of the perfect combination of sand and clay soil. Shrubs, conifers, forest and hedging plants and roses are the main business for G. Hoogenraad BV. The nursery has become a size of 6 ha. Every year it produces more than 1.3 million plants.

The last one is the organization for propagation of virus free plant material. Visiting this production point our delegation had also a wonderful chance to be acquainted theoretically and practically with the certification procedure, an important condition of planting and trading in Europe.

One of the most positive moments was the willingness of the companies to cooperate expressed in warm welcomes for the Ukrainian guests. Hope this has led the foundation for something new and promising.
